How do I know this?

I was in a hospital bed, diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, and fighting for my life — not once but twice. Most importantly, I was given a six percent chance of survival. That night, I suddenly saw how the connection between stress and trauma made me so sick. I knew at that moment I needed to survive and find ways to help me live.
